Corporate press conference trends for 2027 point to more deliberate format choices, more usable video assets and tighter human review of AI-assisted material. These are conditional editorial predictions dated 3 November 2026, not results of a PRS survey or measured event-industry forecasts.

Abstract and research question
How might changes in news consumption and venue sourcing affect the way a corporate team designs a media briefing in 2027? The evidence below concerns audiences and general event professionals rather than a representative sample of corporate press conferences. It suggests planning questions, not a claim that any specific format will deliver more coverage.
Three documented signals
- News video: the Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2025 says social-video news consumption across its surveyed markets rose from 52% in 2020 to 65% in 2025. This is consumer behaviour, not journalist attendance or press-event viewership.
- Event sourcing: Cvent’s 2025 Planner Sourcing Report: Europe Edition says 59% of its surveyed planners expected more onsite events in 2025, and 54% reported already using AI tools for venue sourcing. Censuswide surveyed more than 600 professionals in the UK and five European countries in June–July 2024. Neither percentage represents India or press conferences alone.
- Verification: Reuters Institute reports that audiences in its sample continue to value trusted news brands and official sources when checking disputed information. That strengthens the case for source-linked fact sheets; it does not prove a specific media-kit design increases coverage.
Three testable 2027 predictions
Prediction: more corporate briefs will prepare captioned, rights-cleared speaker clips alongside an accurate written release. Test it against future event briefs and published newsroom requests, not social-video consumer percentages alone. A clip must not replace a checkable source document.
Prediction: teams will choose a physical, remote or hybrid format by the journalists who need access, rather than automatically assuming hybrid delivers wider coverage. Cvent’s surveyed European planners expected more onsite events; that cannot establish an Indian press-event trend. Check the actual invitation, RSVP and attendance log before judging the choice.
Prediction: more teams will use AI to compare venues, draft run sheets or organise source documents while keeping a named human approver for claims, quotations, translation and embargo timing. Cvent’s AI figure is a venue-sourcing survey finding, not a measure of PRS capability. Compare error rates and approvals before adopting tools for sensitive announcements.
Methodology and limitations
Reviewed the publisher’s 2025 Reuters Institute executive summary, its sampling methodology and Cvent’s dated survey statement. Each prediction is a reasoned inference from those sources, with an observable future check. No original representative survey, primary event-cost collection or statistical model was run. Reuters warns its India online respondents are not nationally representative; Cvent’s European planners are a different population. We therefore do not combine their percentages into a press-conference performance rate or assign a probability to any prediction.
To apply the format question to one event rather than treat a general survey as a guarantee, use the hybrid versus in-person decision guide.
Practical application
For your next announcement, approve a fact sheet, decide which journalists need to ask live questions, verify the room’s sound and upload path, and ask whether a recording or remote feed is in the written scope. See staff-arranged virtual participation and press conference management. The self-serve virtual press room and AI captioning remain planned, not operational.

Trends research FAQs
Is this a survey of PRS press-conference clients?
No. This is PRS editorial analysis of published third-party research, not a PRS survey or an observed press-event dataset.
Does more video news consumption prove that hybrid press conferences work better?
No. News-consumption preferences do not measure press-conference attendance or effectiveness. Select a format based on your actual journalists, access needs and technical resources.
Are AI captions and a self-service virtual press room available from PRS?
No. Those platform capabilities remain planned; staff-arranged remote participation can be scoped separately for an event.
What would change these predictions?
New primary studies of newsroom formats, actual event participation and AI quality could change the outlook. Each prediction below names an observable signal rather than assigning an unsupported probability.
