A “press pass” can mean an event badge issued by an organiser, an ID from a newsroom or official accreditation. They are not interchangeable. A badge does not make someone an accredited journalist, and a site account does not grant access to government events.

For a particular event

Check the organiser's official media notice for eligibility, deadlines, identity verification, camera rules and the registration contact. An invitation or RSVP is not an access confirmation. Ask the event team what evidence of assignment or publication it needs; never buy a pass from someone claiming to control independent media access.

For Indian central-government accreditation

Consult the Press Information Bureau's official accreditation portal for current guidelines and application status. Rules and submission windows can change; the PIB page is the authority, not a private event organiser. The portal was checked on 4 November 2026; do not rely on a deadline copied from an old guide.

PRS journalist portal

PRS's journalist account and verification process is gated while implementation is tested. It is neither PIB accreditation nor an event press pass. For an individual PRS-coordinated event, ask the invitation contact about its media access procedure.
